"IPDS-led 'Weave for Peace' Partnership Empowers Young Pakistani Women with E-commerce Skills for Sustainable Development.

The Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) and the Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network. This partnership, titled "Weave for Peace," aims to facilitate skills training for young Pakistani women, including training in digital and e-commerce skills, crafts, and essential business information. The primary goal of this initiative is to contribute to the sustainable development of Pakistan by empowering young Pakistani women with e-commerce skills that will help them rebuild their communities. Moreover, the MoU seeks to promote friendship and enhance people-to-people connectivity between China and Pakistan through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) framework. The organizations involved have made a commitment to provide training to young women in Pakistan with regards to e-commerce-related business insights and requirements.

The purpose of this training is to empower these women to learn and utilize e-commerce skills for community development. Drawing upon the experience and expertise of individuals from China, who possess strong e-commerce skills, the training is designed to provide young Pakistani women with various opportunities to learn and earn. The partnership is aimed at establishing a comprehensive mechanism for skill training, ultimately leading to the socio-economic empowerment of young women in Pakistan. As part of the program, IPDS will conduct skill training for 12 groups of women, with a focus on enhancing their financial management and insight, e-commerce knowledge, digital skills, effective utilization of various e-commerce platforms, as well as business operation and entrepreneurial insights.
