Imran Khan's Lawyer Expresses Concerns Over His Safety, Cell Conditions in Adiala Jail.

LAHORE -- Naeem Haider Panjutha, the lawyer representing former Prime Minister Imran Khan, raised alarm on Tuesday, claiming that the PTI chief had been transferred to a lower-class cell at Adiala Jail and that he feared for the ex-premier's safety.

Imran Khan was moved to Attock jail on August 5, 2023, after a court sentenced him to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case for concealing details of gifts he received during his tenure as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Following the suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana case by the Islamabad High Court, the government detained the former Prime Minister in connection with the cipher case. He has remained in custody on judicial remand since then.

On September 26, Imran Khan was transferred from District Jail Attock to Central Jail Adiala in compliance with an IHC order, which was issued in response to a plea filed by the PTI.
