IGP orders setting up of DRCs in tribal districts.

PESHAWAR -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Dr Mohammad Naeem Khan has directed the police officials to establish dispute resolution councils (DRCs) and public liaison councils in merged tribal districts with immediate effect to ensure provision of quick dispensation of justice to the local people.

A statement issued in Peshawar said that these directives were issued to the Peshawar city police chief and regional police officers of Malkand, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Kohat and Bannu on Wednesday.

It said that the officials had been asked in the circular to take practical steps for promoting community policing in the area and for achieving this goal constitute DRCs at the district and subdivision levels in all the merged districts and subdivisions and PLCs in all police stations.
