IG Islamabad directs dismantling drug dens in capital.

ISLAMABAD -- The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan directed the station house officers to continue targeted and intelligence-based operations against the drug dealers operating in the capital to eradicate the menace of narcotics, informed sources on Tuesday.

The police chief also warned the SHOs of eight police stations to accelerate action against the exploding dens of narcotics in their jurisdiction or else be ready to face the music, they said. Presiding over a meeting to review the drug reduction campaign, the IGP asked the SHOs to effectively monitor certain educational institutions in the capital as well as some private housing societies where drug peddlers were reportedly operating in full pace.
