Hiring process for special branch post challenged.

LAHORE -- The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought replies from the Punjab government and the inspector general of police on a petition questioning the alleged violation of rules in the process for the appointment of assistant directors in the special branch.

Earlier, petitioner's counsel Imran Khan Klair argued before the court that the Punjab Public Service Commission issued an advertisement on Dec 30, 2022, inviting applications for various posts, including assistant director, intelligence (special branch) police department.

He said pursuant to the advertisement, the petitioner also tried to apply for the post but the online process did not accept his application as the qualification criteria was set as Masters in specific subjects, whereas the petitioner had PhD in forestry.
