High treason case: LHC's verdict over formation of special court challenged in SC.

ISLAMABAD -- The Lahore High Court's January 13 verdict, declaring the formation of the special court illegal, has been challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday.

According to details, former president High Court Bar Association Rawapindi bench Taufiq Asif Advocate challenged the Lahore High Court's verdict that nullified the formation of the special court against former president general (retd) Pervez Musharraf. The applicant filed the petition through the Hamid Khan Advocate.

The petitioner took stance that the Lahore High Court did not have the authority to hear the petition against formation of the special court. The High Court did not properly interpret Article 6 of the 18th Constitutional Amendment in its decision and the High Court's verdict made Article 6, which has special significance in the Constitution...
