HEC allows DPT and Pharm D graduates to use title 'Dr' with name.

ISLAMABAD -- The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Wednesday allowed the degree holders of Doctor of pharmacy and physical therapy to use the title 'Dr' with their names.

Earlier, the University of Health Sciences stopped the degree holders of Doctor of Physical Therapy and Pharm D to not use the title Dr with their names.

The HEC in its letter issued clarified that both degree programme holders can use the title 'Dr' with their names. The letter issued by HEC said that reference is invited to the UHS circular issued vide no. UHS-REG-21 (Syndicate)/4079 dated 30th August 2021. It is apprised that the matter regarding Doctor title used with undergraduate programmes was well addressed by the commission vide letter no. 9-1/HEC/ACAD-CURRI/2018/2372 dated September 04, 2018.
