Heavy rain, hail batter parts of Sindh.

DADU -- Heavy rain and hailstorm hit parts of Dadu, Nawabshah, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas districts on Thursday, damaging wheat crop on hundreds of acres.

Heavy rain and strong winds damaged wheat crop in several parts of Dadu, Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah and Johi talukas.

Growers in union council Pipri of Dadu taluka told journalists that hailstorm destroyed their wheat crop which was ready for harvest. About 20 per cent of wheat cultivated on 500 acres was affected, they said.

Sindh Abadgar Board's Dadu chapter president Mohammad Umar Jamali said that heavy rain damaged wheat in Jhallo, Moundar, Pipri, Radhan, Johi, parts of Mehar, KN Shah, parts of Jamshoro, Sehwan, Lakky Shah Saddar and Sann towns.
