Govt to develop tourist spots in Shangla.

SHANGLA -- The newly-discovered Bahadar Sar and Kandaw tourist destinations here have become popular among visitors thanks to road accessibility.

A large number of tourists have visited these scenic spots in the past three months.

The tourist destinations are located in the north of Shangla 55 kilometres from the district headquarters, Alpuri, and 100km from the Karakoram Highway in Bisham.

A foot track leading to Kandaw Top from KKH passes through the thick pine forests.

It takes around a 40-45-minute walk to reach the picturesque Bahadar Sar.

Amir Iqbal Tanoli, who was in the area along with friends, said the scenic beauty had made him forget the tension caused by Covid-19. ``One who visits the valley quickly falls in love with its scenic beauty.

He said in June when temperature was sizzling in the down country Bahadar Sar offered a pleasant weather to the visitors.

Jamshed Ali Shah, a local tourist, said he had witnessed such an incredible and vast lush green meadows for the first time in his life. `We reached Kandaw in a car to in an hour drive through a zigzag road from Lilonal village. Then we took our stuff along and started walking upwards to Bahadar...
