Govt to carry UN model to protect special persons rights.

ISLAMABAD -- Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that the government was considering to evolve a plan in line with the United Nations convention for the rights of Person With Disabilities (PWDs) to ensure protection to the rights of this neglected segment.

The minister talking to reporter said special job quota of two per cent for (PWDs) will be increased

by the government to bring them into mainstream of the society.

'It is our moral, social and religious obligation at individual and collective levels to make efforts

for the welfare of special persons,' the minister said .

He said that special persons are integral part of the society and asked the countrymen to encourage them so that they can play their role effectively in the society.

The minister said that there is a need to create awareness about social and economic rights of special persons and efforts to make them useful citizens. He added they should be given equal opportunities for having their effective role.
