Govt taking measures to facilitate business community: Commissioner.

PESHAWAR -- Commissioner Amjad Ali Khan said the business community was the backbone of the county's economy, and the government was taking measures to facilitate them.

He made it clear that the administration was trying to avoid any such step which would affect the business and trade activities.

However, he said it was essential to fully implement the standard operating procedures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The commissioner expressed these views during a meeting with Traders here on Tuesday who called on him at the chamber house under the leadership of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry's acting president, Shahid Hussain.

The traders body demanded an end to lockdown, revision in rents of corporation properties and opening of marriage halls, banquet halls under strict standard operating procedures.

Ashfaq Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Jalil Jan, Vice President of the SCCI, Ghazanfar Bilour, former FPCCI president, Faiz Muhammad Faizi, Haji Muhamamd Afzal, former presidents of the chamber, Ziaul Ul Haq Sarhadi, former SVP of SCCI and PAJCCI, Shaukat Ali Khan, Chairman Law and Order Standing Committee of the chamber, Abidullah Khan Yousafzai, the SCCI executive body members, Aftab Iqbal, Mujeebur Rehman, Ghulam Bilal Javed, and Javed Akhtar, Saddar Gul, Faiz Rasool, Rashid Iqbal Siddique, Waqar Ahmad, Nisar Ahmad, Abdul Razaq, Ishtiaq Ahmad and Muhammad Ayaz, and industrialists and traders were present in the meeting.
