Govt strengthening higher education as per world standards: governor.

FAISALABAD -- The government is strengthening higher education system as per international standards to produce trained manpower for improving economic situation, achieve sustainability and alleviate poverty, says Governor Chaudhry Sarwar.

Addressing the 24th convocation of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Tuesday, he said modern education with a special focus on technological development was prerequisite to meet different challenges in social and economic sectors.

Degrees have been awarded to 6,827 graduates including 154 PhDs, 1,473 MPhil/MS, 3,441 MA/MSc/MBA/M.Com/ M.Ed and 1,559 BSc and associate degrees. Gold medals were awarded to 11gradutes, silver medal to 40 students and seven students received bronze medals.

The governor said youngsters had to strive to strengthen Pakistan and make future bright. 'Today is a remarkable day for the graduates who would enter their respective fields with practical and theoretical knowledge.'
