Govt not amending the 18th Constitutional Amendment: Fawad.

ISLAMABAD -- The government won't amend the 18th Constitutional Amendment, says Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.

He clarified that a presidential system was not being introduced in the country. 'The rumours are being triggered in the country to divert the attention from corruption cases,' the federal information minister said during an interview with a private TV channel on Wednesday.

NAB is currently probing corruption cases against nearly all central leaders of major political parties. 'Whenever the government undertakes negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the rumour mills get into action,' said Fawad Chaudhry, adding that the rumours are solely aimed at destabilising the markets.

He recommended PPP and PML-N leaders and workers to 'grow out of Zardaris and Sharifs'.

'The top leadership of the two parties is immersed in corruption,' he said. 'If the two major political parties don't think of alternative leadership, they will drown, ultimately,' he said.
