Govt mulls open ballot, reforms for LG polls: Firdous.

LAHORE -- Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says the Punjab government is considering open balloting and other reforms to eradicate the use of money in the local government elections.

The Punjab government has the capacity to hold local bodies elections within the due date (Sept 30), Dr Awan said, adding that it had decided to further amend the recently promulgated ordinance to eradicate malpractices.
