Govt asked to set up ombudsman regional office in Malakand.

MINGORA -- The residents of Swat have demanded of the government to establish regional office of federal ombudsman in Malakand division as local people face numerous problems related to federal departments.

They raised the demand during a meeting with the officials of the provincial office of federal ombudsman here on Monday. The meeting was organised by the office of Wafaqi Mohtasib in collaboration with district administration. The local elders, political leaders, traders, social activists, officials from different federal departments and youth attended the meeting.

The adviser to federal ombudsman, Arbab Sher Bahadar, said that the meeting was organised to create awareness among people about the activities of Wafaqi Mohtasib so that they could lodge complaints against federal departments if they faced issues from them.

'We have proper mechanism to address issues of people after they send us complaint. The complainants can be lodged online, by post or by hand regarding the problems related to federal departments like Wapda, SNGPL and others,' he said.
