Govt asked to include daily wagers in EOBI scheme.

KARAK -- The district chapter of Workers Welfare Union has demanded of the government to include daily wagers in the scheme of Employees Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) and enact legislation for them in National Assembly.

The demand was made in a meeting of the union held in Sabirabad here on Wednesday. On the occasion, the patron-in-chief of the union, Zafar Iqbal Saif, general secretary Gul Janan and legal adviser Advocate Qadir Shireen said that daily wagers were not included in the pension of EOBI scheme.

They said that daily wagers should be given privileges on the pattern of mining and industrial workers to bring them in the mainstream. They said that federal government should make legislation for them and they should be given the status of workers like the workers of mining and industries.
