Goods Confiscated During Tsagaan Sar Safety Regulation Inspections

Products which failed to meet labeling requirements

The General Agency for Specialized Investigation (GASI) reported that 669 goods valued at 25.2 million MNT were confiscated during inspections for Tsagaan Sar celebrations, citing a failure to meet quality and safety standards.

GASI identified 2,942 quality and safety violations after inspecting 3,011 entities, 827 organizations, and 2,271 individuals operating food-related businesses. They resolved 1,868 violations during inspections. Most of the violations concerned imported products, which had problems related to transportation procedure and labels.

A total of 432 types of products valued at approximately 10.6 million MNT were removed from shelves. Sixteen businesses selling unsatisfactory products were temporarily shut down, and six of them reopened after resolving violations.

According to the Director of the Central Laboratory of the GASI, M.Badamtsetseg, more people have started selling goods on the street and from their cars in recent years. "Don't buy goods from people on the street," she said.
