Funds sought for building small dams in Lakki.

LAKKI MARWAT -- Ghaznikhel tehsil council chairman Zeeshan Mohammad Khan has urged the provincial government to provide funds for building small dams and dykes in the area to mitigate flood losses.

Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said the recent spell of pre-monsoon rains coupled with hailstorm damaged the road infrastructure and agricultural lands in parts of the tehsil.

He said the flash floods also washed away culverts and small bridges and damaged embankments.

'The residents of several rural localities especially Matora and Chuharkhel are among the affected awaiting government assistance,' he said.
