Former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt on Friday said some frustrated politicians are repeatedly dragging Army into politics which is condemnable. He expressed his concern over the ongoing campaign against the armed forces and urged politicians not to drag the state institutions into politics.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said that Army wants to stay away from politics but this is not acceptable to some upset politicians who want to come to power through blackmail. Army, bureaucrats, and judiciary should function within their constitutional limits while no one should be allowed to malign the national institutions, he added.

The business leader said that those who were running a campaign against the national institutions were traitors and deserved to be tried under Article 6.
