From The Past Pages Of Dawn: 1972: Fifty Years Ago: Bhutto meets Soviet envoy.

RAWALPINDI -- President Z.A. Bhutto tonight [Nov 6] had an over 30-minute meeting with the Russian Ambassador, Mr A. A. Rodionov. The meeting was held in a side-room at the Russian Embassy where a largely-attended reception was going on to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution. Meanwhile, a rumour got into circulation that the President had also been in telephonic contact with the Russian Premier, Mr Alexei Kosygin.

Asked by this correspondent ... about the rumour, the Russian Ambassador gave a broad smile but no reply. However, he volunteered ... that he was extremely happy with his talks with President. -Special representative
