From ball-boy to lead green shirts in Pakistan, Babar shares his excitement.

Lahore -- World number one T20I batsman and the skipper of Pakistan, Babar Azam is excited to lead Pakistan in front of the home crowd in the three-T20I series against Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The 25-year-old shared his journey as he used to be a ball-picker 13 years ago and also worked in a Test between Pakistan and South Africa back in 2007 at the same venue.

'It is a very proud moment for me to captain in front of my home crowd. I shared one thing back when I was appointed as the captain that thirteen years ago I came here as a ball picker so it is a great feeling,' Babar said at the presser before the unveiling of the series trophy along with Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah.

Message for Mushfiqur Rahim

Babar also sent a message to Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim who didn't travel to Pakistan due to concern of his family.

'My message for him that most of the big names are here so it would have been great If he had come to Pakistan,' he added.

Strength in batting

Skipper also termed batting as a much stronger department than bowling. The presence of Ifthikar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim have added depth in the batting lineup.
