FPCCI seeks steps to boost industrial sector.

ISLAMABAD -- The top body of the business community on Monday donated Rs20 million to the PM's relief fund and apprised Prime Minister Imran Khan of issues faced by traders and industrialists of the country.

A delegation of office-bearers of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) led by its president Anjum Nisar requested the prime minister for some measures to boost the industrial sector on the line of the package announced for the construction industry.

Qaisar Khan Daudzai, the FPCCI vice president, highlighted issues related to the industry in KP and newly-merged tribal districts.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) asked the government to take measures to avert any flour crisis in the country.

Mohammad Ahmed Waheed, the ICCI president, called upon the government to accept the demands of flour mill owners.

Delegation presents Rs20m to PM for relief fund

He was talking to a delegation of flour mill owners who called on him. The delegation was led by Sheikh Tariq Sadiq, Central Executive Member of Flour Mills Association.

The delegation apprised him of the issues being faced by the flour millers due to wrong policies of the Punjab government.

The ICCI president said due to the strike and closure of flour mills, a severe flour crisis would emerge while a large number of workers would lose their jobs and people would also face difficulties.
