Food insecurity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa feared.

MANSEHRA -- Jamaat-i-Islami, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emir Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Saturday criticised the government over a surge in the wheat flour's price and feared food insecurity in the province.

Mr Mushtaq told a news conference at the Al-Markaz-i-Islami here that the price of wheat flour had gone up by Rs6 per kg in a single day due to the ruling PTI's bad governance.

'The PTI government, which was an outcome of election rigging, has failed to manage the province's affairs. There's a serious shortage of wheat flour in the province even after its priced surged by Rs6 per kg,' he said.

The JI leader said both federal and provincial governments led by the PTI claimed to have drastically cut expenditure but all that happened by depriving the people of health and education facilities and increasing utility bills to an unaffordable level.

He said the provincial government was lavishly spending the taxpayers' money on the matters of own interest but it had curtailed development budget adversely affecting healthcare, education and other basic services.
