Flour sale points set up in Dir, Shangla to facilitate people.

UPPER DIR -- The administrations of Upper Dir and Shangla have set up subsidised wheat flour sale points to facilitate the people in getting the commodity without any hassle.

The Upper Dir administration has set up flour distribution points across the district on customers' demand as they were greatly troubled while standing outside a flour mill to get the commodity at the government rate.

On the directives of deputy commissioner Khalid Iqbal Khattak, the assistant commissioners have issued permits for sale of subsidised flour to dealers.

The flour distribution points have been established in Dir, Sheringal, Kalkot, Wari, Brawal.

In Shangla, the administration has set up 29 subsidised flour sale points across the district.

Sufficient wheat stock available with Chitral food department

A circular issued by the district administration said subsidised flour rates ranged from Rs808 to Rs840 per a 20kg bag.

It said two shops in Bisham city, three in Chakesar, two in Dandai, two in Alpuri and five in Puran were in addition to the 29 flour sale points established across the district.

However, people were seen in long queues buying flour bags from trucks at the sale points.

In Bajaur, the authorities on Wednesday decided to ensure smooth distribution of subsidised wheat flour to the residents amid complaints by the people that they were facing hardship in getting the commodity from the sale points.

The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by deputy commissioner Usman Mehsood.
