Five-day polio vaccination drive to begin on 17th.

TAXILA -- A total of 291,863 children below the age of five will be administered the polio vaccine during a five-day drive that will begin across the district on Feb 17.

District Health Officer Dr Asad Ismail told the media that 953 teams will go door-to-door vaccinating children in six tehsils.

He said staff deployed for the campaign have been issued special instructions and informed that negligence will not be tolerated.

There are 105 fixed centres and 31 transit points designated for this purpose, he said, and 79 union council supervisors and 174 area in-charges have been appointed to monitor the campaign in the Attock, Fatehjang, Pindigheb, Jand, Hassanabdal and Hazro tehsils.
