Financial issues of varsities to be resolved soon: minister.

SWABI -- Provincial minister for information technology Kamran Bangash has said the government has chalked out a comprehensive strategy for resolving the financial problems of the universities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

'I have asked Prime Minister Imran Khan that investment in the IT field can help materialise his vision,' he said while speaking as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Aisa held at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Monday.

'We want to compete with our archrival India in IT field,' declared the minister.

Students of universities and colleges from across the country, especially Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, participated in the competition. It was for the first time that KP got the chance to host such a promising event. About 67 teams took part in the contest.

The three-day contest was organised by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a society of GIK Institute students.

Dr M Ayub Alvi, director FAST-NUCES, who was guest of honour, said in his address that there should be enthusiasm of innovation among students who should work with complete determination and concentration while keeping in mind the requirements of the country's industry.
