Few mills stop sugarcane purchase.

LAHORE -- Some mills in the province have stopped purchasing sugarcane apparently because of the crop price row.

Reports suggest that at least four mills in the Faisalabad division have brought crushing of sugarcane at their units to a halt while there are long queues of trucks and tractor-trolleys laden with sugarcane outside these factories.

One of the growers who had brought their produce to a factory on Tandlianwala Road, claims that the mills management is pressing for giving lower rates for the crop than the one recently fixed by the government.
