FBISE Chairman's research paper wins int'l acclaim.

ISLAMABAD -- Chairman Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Dr. Ikram Ali Malik's Research Paper titled 'An Evaluation, Assortment, and Optimization of the Question Items', published online by renowned journal Education and Urban Society, received acknowledgment by international experts.

The article was published with impact factor of 0.91 by the United States (US) based magazine after its thorough examination by a board of experts that continued for one year, making a history as no FBISE Chairman could get this honor before.

In fact this is first ever research publication of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) based on Desk and Field Work of two-year work regarding establishment of Question Bank at FBISE.

The conclusion of research was the approach of writing contents of a question paper by a single paper setter seriously results in some issues of validity and reliability.

This signifies the importance of pre-written, reviewed, moderated, pre-tested, and statistically analyzed question items for future use.

The research raises issues including foundation of quality examination based on the key features of validity and reliability of question papers. Question papers of examination boards in Pakistan -usually these features as contents of a question paper - are written by a single paper setter.
