Farogh Naseem vows not to let govt destabilize amid MQM-P's reservations.

ISLAMABAD -- Law Minister Farogh Naseem on Friday said that they would not let the government destabilize amid the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) reservations as they are a dear colleague of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He revealed that when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came into power, it promised two ministries to the MQM-P during the negotiations. He went on to say that the Ministry of Law was not sought by the MQM-P, and he was given the charge with the mutual decision of PM Imran and PTI chairman.

Law Minister further said that MQM-P chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui told him that it is their matter to take the remaining two ministries.

Meanwhile, Farogh Naseem expressed that they are not bringing any draconian law to ban social media activities but making such changes which make them prevalent globally.

On Jan 16, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Thursday sent his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan for approval.

'We had facilitated the formation of this PTI government, and we are not stepping back from our support to this government [...] but under these circumstances, it is not possible for me to sit in the ministership,' he said.

Siddiqui asserted that his party would continue to support the democratic process, however, lamented that his sitting in the federal cabinet was 'useless'.

"The lack of seriousness on these matters left us no choice," he said, adding that MQM-P's Rabita Committee (Coordination Committee) had held a detailed discussion on Friday after which they had concluded that it was useless for him to hold the minister's post.

'We had asked for two ministries, one of which is still being sought from the government,' Mr Siddiqi stated.
