Farmers' market to be set up in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD -- Hyderabad district administration is considering a proposal to set up a temporary farmers' market at Expo Center twice a week to enable them to sell their produce directly to consumers.

Hyderabad Commissioner Abbas Baloch said at a meeting of the administration officials on Monday that the initiative could help consumers to a great extent and enable not only farmers to sell vegetables but also artisans to sell handicrafts. A book corner would also be established at the market.

Additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Yousuf Shaikh told the meeting that the purpose of the initiative was to make the venue functional besides providing inexpensive products to consumers through farmers' market.
