Farmer-friendly app on fertiliser use launched.

LAHORE -- The Punjab Agriculture Department has released a smartphone app in an effort to encourage the balanced usage of manure.

The 'Fertilizer Calculator' app, which was released on Thursday, will advise the farmer on the sort and quantity of compost to use based on his or her financial constraints.

Farmers can download the mobile app by writing SFRI on their mobile phone's play store, while to know the use of this user-friendly app, they may get guidance by downloading a short video from the website of the agriculture department (www.agripunjab.gov.pk), says a spokesman for the department.
