Families in quarantine demand sufficient ration supply.

CHINIOT -- The five families quarantined in homes in neighbourhood Rekhti for Covid-19 reasons say they are facing economic hardships. Up to 67 members of the five families have been isolated for six days after 10 people of a family tested positive and were shifted to a quarantine centre at FAST University.

Mohammad Amir, an electrician and the only breadwinner for the family, is among the quarantined people. He told Dawn that most of the families were poor as their earning was based on daily wage type occupations.

The government provided them ration on a daily basis which was not sufficient for them.

On the first day of the forced isolation, he claimed, they were provided with dry ration - packets of pulses, sugar, ghee, etc.

The second day some vegetables were provided but the ration was not enough for the daily needs of families. He said when his one-and-a-half-year-old nephew got sick at night...
