Ex-Rangers officer killed in grenade attack.

KARACHI -- A bakery owner was killed in a suspected terror attack in the Sachal area on Wednesday evening, police and rescue officials said.

East-SSP Sajid Amir Sadozai said unknown suspects threw a hand grenade at the bakery in Bilawal Shah Noorani Goth. As a result, its owner, Ashiq Husain, 68, was killed.

The SSP said the victim was a retired sub-inspector of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh. The police were investigating the possible motive for the attack and identity of the killers.

The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to fulfil legal formalities.
