Ex-MNA escapes 'assassination' attempt.

MUZAFFARGARH -- Gunmen broke into the house of former MNA Ashiq Hussain Gopang in Alipur late on Saturday in a bid to, as he alleges, kill him.

Mr Gopang, former Public Accounts Committee chairman and father of MNA Talal Gopang, said he was asleep at his Gopang House when the gunmen tried to shoot him with a 9mm pistol in his room, but the bullet got stuck in the chamber. Meanwhile, he woke up forcing the suspects to flee. They, however, stole Mr Gopang's tab, Rs9,100 and his mobile phone.
