Ex-mayor of city Niamatullah Khan laid to rest.

KARACHI -- Former mayor and senior leader of the Jamaat-i-Islami Niamatullah Khan Advocate, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 89 years, was laid to rest on Wednesday.

His funeral prayers were offered on New M.A. Jinnah Road near the party's Karachi headquarters Idara Noor-i-Haq. JI chief Senator Sirajul Haq led the prayers.

The funeral was attended by a large number of people, including Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and senior political leaders, including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, Mustafa Kamal and Shahi Syed. Later, he was buried in the DHA graveyard.
