EU now responsible for 24.3pc of global seaborne LNG imports.

Europe's demand has been driving a surge in US LNG exports. In its latest weekly report, shipbroker said that "global seaborne LNG trade has continued to surge this year, helped also by the events in Ukraine. In the first 9 months of 2022, global shipments of LNG increased by +6.0 percent y-o-y to 300.6 mln tonnes, based on Refinitiv vessel tracking data.
