Establishment of information body demanded.

QUETTA -- Speakers at a conference demanded the establishment of BaloAchistan Information Commission and appointment of chief information commissioner without delay in accordance with Section 18 of the Balochistan Right to Information Act, 2021.

The conference was organised by the Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) in collaboration with the European Union on Wednesday.

The Balochistan government was bound to establish an information commission within six months of the enactment of the act; it has been almost two years since the law was implemented, but the information commission was not formed.

Mukhtar Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of CPDI, discussed the loopholes in the act and presented recommendations for amendments.
