Engineers play key role in economic growth: governor.

LAHORE -- Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman said on Thursday that engineers play key role in economic growth and development of the country and significantly contribute to improving life of people.

He was talking to Chairman Engineering Development Board (EDB) Ministry of Commerce and Investment Almas Hyder, who called on him here at Governor's House.

Baligh-ur-Rehman said there was an important link between the country's engineering capacity and its economic development. He said industrial engineering had also provided a systematic approach to streamlining and improving productivity and efficiency.

The governor said that engineering disciplines integrate scientific principles with real life-oriented research, providing systems and process that create ways of acquiring new knowledge.
