Following is the text of press release issued by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI)

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) held its Annual General meeting on December 29, 2018 at Federation House Karachi wherein the Election Commission announced the results of FPCCI Elections 2019. As per results of FPCCI Election 2019, Eng. Daroo Khan elected as a President FPCCI with 174 votes and Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig elected as Sr. Vice President FPCCI with 174 votes for the year 2019. Whereas on the seats of Associations, Abdul Waheed Khan got 153 votes Noor Ahmed Khan got 116 votes, Mulim Muhammadi got 113 votes and Arshad Jamal got 111 votes and elected as Vice Presidents of FPCCI 2019.

Waqar Mahmood Khan and Haji Iftikhar Ahmed elected unopposed as Vice President from the seat of Sindh and KPK respectively. While Ismail Suttar got 11 votes and elected Vice President from Baluchistan, Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi got eight votes and elected Vice President from ICT, Abdul Rauf Mukhtar got 31 votes and elected Vice President from Punjab and Qurban Ali got 10 votes and elected Vice President from Small Chambers respectively.

Shireen Arshad Khan got 9 votes and elected Vice President on the seat of Women Chambers. All the Elected Officer Bearers belong to UBG which is headed by S. M. Muneer and Iftikhar Ali Malik. New Office Bearers of FPCCI have taken the charge of their offices from January 1, 2019 and in the first meeting of Executive Committee Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir Immediate Past Sr. Vice President has been appointed as the Advisor to the President FPCCI.

The newly elected President FPCCI Eng. Daroo Khan assured in his first address in Executive committee meeting that special attention will be given to resolve the issues of business community in the time to come and will take on board ruling group and opposition group without any discrimination for policy advocacy on national issues. He hoped that opposition group will adopt a positive attitude and will give their input/suggestion for policy advocacy. While in the past the role of opposition was negative and their allegations in the current election are also baseless and fabricated.

Eng. Daroo Khan further added that Mian Zahid Hussain representative of Businessmen Panel is resisting to black mailing the business community. He doesn't have any business except making money in the period of election. He...
