Eight shops sealed for hoarding flour.

TAXILA -- The Hassanabdal administration sealed eight shops, registered cases against two flour mills and imposed a fine on another one for creating artificial flour shortage and hoarding.

A team of local administration comprising officials of revenue and food department and led by assistant commissioner Arif Qureshi raided various shops and flour dealers in Tass, Jehanabad, Shahiya, Kalupind, Bhalarjoggi, Tanda, Jehri Kass and other areas and sealed eight shops for illegal sale and supply of flour.

The team also imposed a fine of over Rs30,000 on various flour suppliers for SoP violation of flour sale and supply.

Moreover, during surprise checks, two flour mills were found indulging in illegal activities of flour sale and purchase hence separate cases were registered against their owners under section 3 and 7 of the price control and prevention of profiteering and hoarding act 1997.

Moreover, a heavy fine was imposed on the flour miller for violation of SoP in the supply of flour. Talking to newsmen on this occasion, the assistant commissioner said that the sale points have been enhanced in the city and established in every union council...
