Educational institutions to reopen in first week of September with all COVID-19 SOPs in place.

ISLAMABAD -- Education institutes across the country will reopen in the first week of September.

According to media reports, the decision was taken in Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) that was chaired by Minister for Federal Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture Shafqat Mehmood and attended by representatives from all four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

During the meeting, it was decided that coronavirus situation will be thoroughly monitored before opening the institutions.

The meeting decided to reopen schools with all the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place. 'Schools will be reopened after taking a look at the coronavirus situation in the country. The final decision to reopen schools will be taken by the National Command and Control Centre during its meeting today (Thursday),' sources added.
