Education for special children stressed.

HARIPUR -- Deputy commissioner Nadeem Nasir has said that facilitating special children in getting education is the responsibility of both parents and the society so that they could be become self-dependent and useful citizens.

He was speaking at an open kutcheri organised specifically for the physically- and mentally-challenged children at the government school for mentally- and physically-challenged children at Khalabat Township here on Tuesday. He said that such children were capable of leading life as normal people provided their needs were properly addressed.

'The government and the society both have the responsibility to facilitate such persons in getting transport and education,' he said, adding that all the government offices would construct ramps and make wheelchairs available for special people so as to ensure their access to offices for resolution of their complaints.
