Education body's employees protest lack of service structure.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN -- Education Monitoring Authority's employees held a protest demonstration in front of the DI Khan Press Club here on Tuesday, demanding service structure.

They were led by president monitoring officers association Zubair Lohani.

On the occasion, Mr Lohani said the Education Monitoring Authority was established in early 2014, and had since been performing well despite shortage of staff.

He said the authority was monitoring 34,183 schools, 2.5 million employees and 5.6 million students in 35 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

'A common perception about the authority is that it only monitors the attendance of schoolteachers, but the list of responsibilities the employees of this institution deliver is quite long,' he added.

Mr Lohani said that in addition to their basic duties, the education monitoring officers had performed 28 different additional responsibilities.
