The month of July witnessed a significant milestone in international diplomacy with the 23rd meeting of the heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The virtual summit, hosted by India for the first time on July 4th, brought together distinguished leaders from SCO member nations, including Pakistan, Russia, China, and others. The summit's central focus was on bolstering regional stability, combating terrorism, and fostering innovative cooperation for the betterment of their respective populations. A remarkable achievement of the 23rd SCO Summit was ratifying the New Delhi Declaration, a pivotal document endorsed by all member nations.

This declaration emphasized the urgent necessity for a cohesive international front against terrorist, separatist, and extremist organizations. It called for vigilance in countering religious intolerance, aggressive nationalism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia while unequivocally denouncing the ideologies of fascism and chauvinism. Through the New Delhi Declaration, the summit effectively conveyed a persistent message of unity in tackling global challenges and showcased the SCO's unwavering commitment to preserving peace and harmony.

The leaders of the SCO also collectively embraced two thematic declarations, underscoring their determination to address challenges that pose risks to regional peace and security. The first statement focused on collaborative efforts in countering radicalization, which can lead to separatism, extremism, and terrorism. By tackling the underlying drivers of radicalization, the SCO member states aspire to establish a stable and secure environment for their citizens. The second statement centered on cooperation in the realm of digital transformation, acknowledging the vast potential of technology in promoting advancement and prosperity.
