RECENTLY talking to the media the Punjab Health Minster, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, said that doctors were using an injection, Actemra, to treat Covid-19 patients. According to her, doctors are getting good response after using this injection. She also said this injection was being used on a trial basis.

Indications for the use of this injection are painful inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, giant cell arthritis, etc. Cost-wise this injection is very expensive. As soon as the minister disclosed the name of this injection, as usual, it disappeared from medical stores.

The price of this injection has gone up manifold. Now it is not available at all because of hoarding...
