Downpour inconveniences road users in city.

LAHORE -- Citizens had to face a great deal of inconvenience as all major roads were submerged by rainwater on Tuesday.

The rainwater accumulated at Liberty roundabout, Faisal Town, Model Town, The Mall, Jail Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Johar Town, Gulberg, Shadman, Anarkali, Samanabad, Kapoor Thala house on Lake Road and Old Anarkali area. The Kapoor Thala house had been experiencing the [rainwater] problem for many years and the administration seems least bothered about it.

The traffic was also affected due to heavy rain in different areas of the city. Several cars and motorcycles broke down on the [flooded] roads, causing inconvenience to the people.

Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman on Tuesday warned there is a 'clear' risk of urban flooding, particularly in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Islamabad.
