Domestic season likely to be delayed as COVID-19 cases surges in Pakistan.

Karachi -- Pakistan's upcoming domestic season is likely to be delayed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases across Pakistan.

Domestic season in Pakistan mostly starts in August but there have been more than 170,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3300 plus deaths and it is expected to peak in late July and early August.

According to media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani also said that it is also difficult to hold domestic cricket matches in time in the country.

'It seems like the situation will further worsen instead of getting improved and I am also reading medical advice and the cases will take another peak. We are monitoring and will have to plan accordingly, considering every aspect,' he said.
