'Disrespect for vote's sanctity to fail system'.

LAHORE: Senior PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah says the lack of respect for the franchise will fail the governance system and damage national interests.

'If the franchise of the masses is not respected, the governance system will fail to the disadvantages of the national interest,' he told reporters along with Munawar Anjum and Naveed Chaudhry on Thursday.

Mr Shah said all knew that who brought whom into power and there was no need to explain the consequences but cautioned that the state had been rendered unable to bear the burden of such actions.

The former opposition leader in the National Assembly said the implementation of the constitution was a must for strengthening institutions in the country.
