DHO Tharparkar clarifies about media reports.

MITHI -- The District Health Officer Tharparkar Dr Irshad Ahmed Memon clarified the media reports and said that during last 24 hours 735 children under 5 years were brought in OPDs of different government hospitals of district Tharparkar. 26 required indoor treatment while total admission remained 124 children with 84 already admitted. On getting well 28 children were discharged and sent to their homes. One case was referred to tertiary care hospital for better management. A newborn baby girl of Naseer Khan Buledi resident of Village Mataro Khan Buledi Union Council Fazal Bhanbhro Taluka Jhudo District Mirpurkhas suffering from Birth Asphyxia and 26 month old Shabir s/o Raheem Sangrasi, resident of Jogi Marhi Taluka Islamkot suffering from Meningitis could not survive despite best possible medical care. He further said that in Civil Hospital Mithi and 04 Taluka Headquarter Hospitals in Nagarparkar, Chachro, Diplo and Islamkot are providing state of art healthcare in desert district Tharparkar with provisions of Pediatric incubators, NICH telemedicine consultation, NICVD cardiac unit, kidney dialysis and other facilities. DHO Tharparkar said that there is no shortage of medicines at any health facility of the district. Dr Irshad Ahmed Memon further said that the infant mortality in Tharparkar is 50% less than the country median. It is the only district of Sindh where private practice of doctors is prohibited under honorable Supreme Court mandated Monitoring Committee orders as they are being paid handsome compensatory...
