Development of every country is dependent upon the welfare of women: Kashmala.

KARACHI -- Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment Kashmala Tariq has said that the development of every country is dependent upon the welfare of women and this can only be achieved by empowering women in the society.

Annual 'Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks Awards and Conference 2019' was held at Marriott Hotel Karachi on Wednesday. Kashmala Tariq was the Chief Guest. Awards were organized by Diversity Hub Pakistan being led by Zahid Mubarik, CEO HR Metrics.

While addressing the audience, Federal Ombudsman Kashmala Tariq said that workforce (both men and women) should be aware of their rights and should not tolerate the injustices done. She further said that the institutions, offices and organizations should have internal harassment committees and added that organizations must report their status of compliance with the workplace harassment law.

She further added that it's not only sexual harassment that can be reported to FOSPAH, using mobile phones to intimidate or stalk others, unwanted or unwelcoming text messages at social media like Facebook, Instagram etc falls under harassment and must be reported.
